Sydney day 2 — OK, I give

Tuesday, March 4, 2025  – The days are very long and therefore nights are quite short. The other thing that’s short is my temper with this blog app. My apologies for the delay in my postings

I’m gonna try an intro and a few pictures each day with captions and that’s just gonna have to do. Not my first choice or my 17th, but after many hours of frustration and so much lost content, it’s the only option. Oh, and the pics aren’t in order but I do the best I can 🤷‍♀️

The Queen Victoria Building, built in 1898, it’s now a marketplace with many high-end stores
Australian White Ibis outside of my hotel keeping me company at 7am as I wait for my tour van to arrive
Sydney skyline
On a city tour in a van, saw this beautiful fountain through the windshield – unsure of the park
St Mary’s Cathedral. The first St. Mary’s was built slowly, in phases, between 1821 and 1835. It was subsequently added onto but burned down in 1865. The new cathedral, also built in phases, was finished in 1928, and the new towers were added in 2000.
Entrance to Sydney Harbor
Bondi Beach
Harbor Bridge from Opera House
Zoomed in to show the bridge climbers. It’s 1332 steps up, and guess what? 1332 steps down. Cost for the 2-3 hour adventure averages $300 according to locals. Cheaper if you book ahead, or take a chance on last minute tickets
Art for the arts… the Opera House has an amazing history and way too long for me to recite here. A fabulous story that you won’t regret taking the time to read https://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/our-story
The meeting of wood and cement is spectacular
Close-ish view of the tiles, made in the land of Legos
a different view of the Sydney skyline from the Opera House area with the ferry terminal in the foreground
i’m not sure what level I came in on, but this is the staircase. I descended to the meeting place for the tour
A new star was added to the OPERA AUSTRALIA wall… Can you spot her?
